Policeman arrested for throwing baby

A mainland policeman who grabbed an infant from the arms of her father and threw her violently to the ground -- seriously wounding her -- has been sacked and officially arrested.
The suspect, in his 50s, has been in detention in Henan province since early this week. He was drunk at the time of the incident and made a bet with his friends that a man appearing to be holding a baby girl in his arms, was actually carrying a doll. He then proceeded to snatch the toddler right from her fathers arms and threw her on the ground.

The seven-month-old infant suffered a fractured skull, but is now said to be out of danger.

The incident was covered up by the local police for almost a month. When outraged local officials broke the story to news media, it caused a nation-wide uproar.
