Most people felt it was really silly. Actress Tara Reid said that there was only a certain amount of difficulties you could go into.
The premiere of the movie was watched by 1.37 million viewers and it is below the average 1.50 million watchers who watch a SyFy film. Mary McNamara, writer of the Los Angeles Times said that the plot holes are the: "whole points of movies like this" and they are "fabulous in-home commentary. Often accompanied by the consumption of many alcoholic beverages."
National Weather Service representative talked about the film jokingly: "As with any waterspout or tornado, the best advice is to be in an interior part of the lowest floor of a sturdy building—and not outside, whether sharks are raining down or not."
The film may be not a successful one for there are so many people judged it as a absurd one.
